SIIS Holds the Conference on “Commemorating the 45th Anniversary of the Normalization of Diplomatic Relations between China and Japan”

On June 24, 2017, the
conference on “Commemorating the 45th Anniversary of China-Japan
Relations” was held in SIIS. Sponsored by SIIS, Shanghai People’s Association
for Friendship with Foreign Countries (SPAFFC), Shanghai Association of Public
Diplomacy, Shanghai Society of International Relations, Shanghai Society of
Japanese Studies and Shanghai Japanese Research and Exchange Center, the
conference invited more than 40 experts including Mr. Zhao Qizheng, former
Minister of the State Council Information Office and Mr. Yuji Miyamoto, former
Ambassador of Japan to China. Participants had in-depth discussions on the historic
significance of the normalization of diplomatic relations, the strategic
importance of China-Japan relations and how to make a breakthrough of the
current China-Japan relations.
SIIS President Chen Dongxiao participated
in the conference and made the concluding remarks. SIIS Vice President Yan
Anlin and Ms. Jing Ying, Vice President of the SPAFFC delivered the opening
remarks.
