On July 25, 2017, the Afghanistan think-tank delegation visited SIIS. SIIS president Chen Dongxiao and Prof. Yang Jiemian, chairman of the Council of SIIS Academic Affairs met with the deletion. The delegation members are research fellows from the Center for Military Research and Monitoring, Center for Strategic & Regional Studies, Center for Conflict and Peace Studies, and Afghan Institute for Strategic Studies. They had an in-depth discussion on regional security issues, anti-terrorism and China-Afghan relations with Dr. Ye Qing, SIIS assistant president, Prof. Zhang Jiadong and Prof. Lin Mingwang from the Center for South Asian Studies at the Fudan University, Dr. Liu Zongyi and Dr. Wang Weihua from the Center for Asia-Pacific Studies and Mr. Zhou Yiqi from the Center for West Asian & African Studies.
