On August 18, 2017, led by Ms. Julie Sal Tagen, chief of staff of Congressman Jamie Raskin from Maryland (Democrat), the 111^th U.S. congressional staff delegation of the U.S.-Asia Institute visited SIIS. Prof. Yang Jiemian, chairman of SIIS Academic Affairs Council met with the group members and had a discussion on North Korea nuclear issue, China-India relations, and China-US economic relations etc. Prof. Zhang Haibing, director of the Institute for World Economy Studies, SIIS attended the meeting.
