On August 31, 2017, Prof. Wu Jinan, vice chair of SIIS Consulting Committee met with Ms. Takahira Asuka, Vice Consul of the Consulate General of Japan in Shanghai visited SIIS. The two sides had a discussion on China-Japan relations. They all contend that people-to-people communication plays an important role in enhancing mutual understanding between the two countries despite of ups and downs of official relations. Prof. Cai Liang and Prof. Chen Youjun from the Center for Asia-Pacific Studies also participated in the meeting.
