On March 26, 2018, Prof. Thomas Fingar from Stanford University, former assistant secretary of State for Intelligence and Research, former chairman of the National Intelligence Council visited SIIS. Prof. Chen Dongxiao, president of SIIS hosted a meeting on the past and future of China-US relations joined by Prof. Wu Chunsi, Prof. Cai Penghong, Dr. Zhang Zhexin, Dr. Xue Chen and Yang Li.
