On November 8, 2018, Ms Madina Murgalieva, Deputy Director of the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan led a delegation to SIIS. SIIS President Chen Dongxiao met with the delegation and exchanged views on China-Kazakhstan relations and the cooperation between SIIS and KazISS. Prof. Li Xin, director of the Center for Russian and Central Asia Studies and Prof. Zhao Long attended the meeting.
