On October 30-31, 2018, SIIS and the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) co-hosted the 8th China-U.S. Dialogue on the Global Economic Order. SIIS President Chen Dongxiao attended the Dialogue and delivered an opening remark with Mr. Matthew Goodman, Senior Adviser for Asian Economics, Simon Chair in Political Economy, CSIS.

More than 30 experts from China and the U.S. had an in-depth discussion on innovation ecosystems, labor, demographics, and technology, digital governance, technology and national security.

The participants also visited the Alibaba Group and exchanged views with the leadership of Alibaba on its globalization and business in the US and the future of technology and work.
