On Mar 11th , 2019, SIIS Vice President Yang Jian met with Director Sieger Sakko and  Director David Anink of Emission Free Shipping Association. The two sides had a discussion on climate change, carbon emissions and global governance etc. The international maritime industry has established a zero-emission forward target, and shipping reduction of each country has been reported to the International Maritime Organization and the United Nations. China and the international community will work together to integrate the maritime industry's Emission reduction issues into the common governance path of the Paris Agreement from the perspectives of technology, international law and international cooperation. Director Yu Hongyuan from the Institute for Comparative Politics and Public Policy Studies participated in the meeting.
