On May 21, 2019, SIIS and the World Bank Group South Asia Regional Unit co-held the Shanghai-South Asia Knowledge Exchange Program in Shanghai.

SIIS President Chen Dongxiao, Mr. Martin Rama, Senior Advisor of the South Asia Regional Unit of the WBG and Ms Ye Hong, Deputy Director of the International Division of the Shanghai Municipal Financial Bureau delivered the opening remarks. Mr. Martin Rama and Ms Li Yue made presentations on the reports of WBG followed by comments and discussion on Pu Dong’s development experience for the case of Dhaka, economic corridors in South Asia and the Belt & Road Initiative, etc.
