From July 9-10, 2019, Prof. Yang Jiemian, chairman of SIIS academic affairs council attended the “US-China Trade and Economic Relations Forum: What Now, What Next” and delivered a keynote speech on China-US relations. During the conference, Prof. Yang also exchanged views with Mr. Zeng Peiyan, Chairman of CCIEE & former Vice Premier of the PRC, Mr. Tung Chee Hwa, Vice Chairman of the CPPCC & chairman of CUSEF, Mr. Yasuo Fukuda, former Prime Minister of Japan, Ms. Carrie Lam, Chief Executive of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and Mr. Jean Chretien, former Prime Minister of Canada.

The high-level forum, which was jointly organized by the China-US Exchange Foundation and the China Center for International Economic Exchange, brought together more than 200 politicians, former heads of government, senior diplomats, business leaders and renowned scholars of different countries to conduct in-depth discussions on China-US economic, trade and political relations.
