On November 22, 2019, a delegation of media and think tanks of Arabian countries visited Shanghai Institutes for International Studies and had a discussion on dynamics of Middle East and China-Arabia relations. The delegation was headed by H.E. Mr. Bouchlaka Rafik, former foreign minister of Tunisia and composed of 17 journalists and researchers from Tunisia, Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Qatar. Professor Chen Dongxiao, President of Shanghai Institutes for International Studies met with the delegation. Dr. Li Weijian, Dr. Jin Liangxiang, Dr. Liu Xin from the Center for West Asian & African Studies, Dr. Shao Yuqun from the Center for American Studies, and Dr. Pan Xiaoming of the Institute for World Economy Studies joined the discussion.
