On May 20, 2020, the Shanghai Institutes for International Studies co-organized a webinar with the Institut Montaigne. The webinar was chaired by President Chen Dongxiao of SIIS. Over twenty scholars from France and China had a discussion on the post-pandemic world order, major power interaction and the role of EU and other regional powers. Special Advisor of Institut Montaigne Dominique Moïsi, Ambassador Michel Duclos, Dr. Zhang Haibing, director of the institute for global governance studies of SIIS and Dr. Zhang Yinghong, director of the center for European studies of SIIS gave presentations at the webinar. Dr. Zhang Pei, deputy director of the department for international exchanges, Dr. Long Jing, deputy director of the center for European studies, and Dr. Ye Yu, assistant director of the institute for world economy studies participated in the discussion.
