SIIS & CLAWS (India) co-host a Webinar on China-India @70: Implications of COVID-19 & Way Forward

On May 28, 2020, the SIIS and CLAWS (India) co-hosted a webinar themed China-India @70: Implications of COVID-19 & Way Forward. SIIS President Chen Dongxiao and CLAWS Director Lt Gen (Dr) VK Ahluwalia delivered welcome address and opening remarks.

During the keynote speech session, Lt Gen Ranbir Singh, Distinguished Fellow of CLAWS, Prof Lin Mingwang, Vice Director of Center for South Asian Studies of Fudan University, Dr Amrita Jash, Research Fellow of CLAWS, Prof  Guo Xuetang, Director for South Asia and Indian Ocean Region Studies of Shanghai University of International Business and Economics, Lt Gen Gurmit Singh, Distinguished Fellow of CLAWS, Prof Liu Zongyi, Senior Fellow & Secretary General of South Asia and China Center of SIIS shared their insights from different perspectives. Experts from China and India had a deep discussion on the impact of COVID-19 on the bilateral, regional and global level, the U.S. Indo-Pacific strategy, and China-India cooperation etc. Lt Gen Rakesh Sharma, Distinguished Fellow of CLAWS, Maj Gen PK Chakraborty, Distinguished Fellow of CLAWS, Dr. Zhang Pei, Deputy Director of International Exchanges, SIIS and Dr. Li Hongmei, Fellow of the Institute for International Strategic Studies, SIIS also participated in the meeting.
