On March 19, 2021, Shanghai Institutes for International Studies co-organized a virtual dialogue themed “The Asia-Pacific Region 2021 and Beyond” in collaboration with Asia New Zealand Foundation. SIIS President Chen Dongxiao and Prof. Jason Young, Director at the New Zealand Contemporary China Research Centre at Victoria University of Wellington delivered opening remarks. Prof. David Capie, Director of the Centre for Strategic Studies, Associate Professor in International Relations at Victoria University of Wellington, Dr. Wu Chunsi, Director of the Institute for International Strategic Studies of SIIS, Prof. Rob Scollay, Director of the New Zealand APEC Study Centre and Associate Professor in Economics at the University of Auckland, and Dr. Wang Zhongmei, Director of the Institute for World Economy Studies of SIIS made presentations on “Asia-Pacific dynamics from New Zealand and China’s perspective” and “RCEP and Asia-Pacific trade – the outlook for 2021”. Deputy Consul General Tom Baker and Consul Mike Roger of the Consulate General of New Zealand in Shanghai also participated in this dialogue.
