China’s Economic Initiatives in the Arctic
By Yang Jian
China,
Arctic
Abstract: While China is not an
Arctic country, it has
taken numerous steps to
stake out its interests and
demonstrate its ability
to play a constructive
and environmentally
sustainable role in the future
development of the region. By further integrating its
policies in line with the rapid
economic changes in the
Arctic, China is expected to
be a major player in the years
ahead.
