PhD, Senior Research Fellow at the Institute for Global Governance Studies, and Secretary General of the Center for Major-country Diplomacy with Chinese Characteristics. His main research areas are UN governance and reform, China’s multilateral diplomacy. His recent work has focused on China’s relationship with the UN development system, US policy towards international organization.

Dr. Mao Ruipeng gained bachelor degree from Shandong University in 2003, and Doctor Degree from Fudan University in 2009. He taught international politics at Shanghai University of International Business and Economics (SUIBE) from 2010 to 2017 and was a Visiting Scholar in Davidson College in the United States from 2013 to 2014. He is the author of United States and the Reform of United Nations Security Council (Shanghai People’s Publishing House, 2017), and the Chinese translator of Arms and Influence (by Thomas C. Schelling), and After Anarchy: Legitimacy and Power in the United Nations Security Council (by Ian Hurd).
